we all have a story, here's mine

a little about me + what I do
I grew up in southern Ontario on a farm that was always full of life, running through the fields on my bare feet and sneaking over the road to pet the horses at the neighbour's. Somehow, I knew from a young age I'd pursue a passion for capturing life through a creative outlet. At first I thought it would be through fine art, but as the years went by, I happened to pick up a camera and it just felt right, it felt like home.
I chose the name August because it was my dad's birth month; I've yet to meet someone who saw the world the way he did. In the small moments, the details and the love of nature. It seemed perfect to tribute my passion of all those things to him. A life of noticing the little things, leading me up to today, where I use my passion of photography to capture the abundance of life.

Regardless of living nowhere near the ocean, I'm a lover of the sea. I love the earth beneath my feet, the sunshine on my face and of course, the water. My favourite colour happens to be green, I love fruit salad and I could live off of bread! I enjoy a lot of things in my free time: writing poetry, working out, trying something new and dancing to music in my kitchen.

I love creating, so if you are looking for something different and crazy I'm down for that too! If you have ideas but are unsure how to execute them, I'd love to help you along the way, my goal is to capture who you are!

HOW THE ART ALL BEGAN
I moved west across Canada in 2019 to study photography in Vancouver for a year. This was a big decision, moving away from my family and friends but it changed my entire world. I met some of the best creative's, learned my love for documentary style family sessions as well as my love for portrait photography. Like head over heels, if thats all I had to do at the time, I was beyond content! Then enters 2020. I moved back home, still determined to keep shooting and so from my living room self portraits of inner expression became my past time. As time went by I had a few friends ask me to shoot their wedding, which led to today what I do today. A literal dream come true!! In 2023 I moved back to British Columbia for a year so I could spend all the time in the mountains and explore how I wanted to move forward with this little business. Taking that small step back to reflect has helped build a solid vision for what my art means to me and how I can show up for you. As much as I adored my time spent there, my heart was calling me to settle in a place that would allow me to go back to my roots. Hence the reason I am currently living in Manitoba helping my family on their acreage.
